Cremation Permit Requests

There is a $63 permit fee for Cremation Permit Requests. This fee must be paid in advance as detailed below.

  • Pay the Cremation Permit fee (in advance) using this link to: allpaid PLC 6473
    • Information needed: Name of funeral home, funeral home address and email, name of deceased, and date of death.
  • Please use EDRS (Electronic Death Registration System) for the Official Cremation Permit Request to Dr. Chelsea Ray, MD.
  • Please send the receipt of payment with the name of the decedent to the Medical Examiner’s Office at:  me@algercounty.gov
  • A cremation permit review will be conducted and requests fulfilled via EDRS.  

Autopsy Report Requests

Submit a written request to the County Clerk

  • The request must include the decedent’s name and date of death.

Pay $15 request fee per record either by check or using the online vitals payment system.

Expect up to a 60-day processing time.

*All requests will be forwarded to the Prosecuting Attorney to acknowledge that the decedent and/or requested report is not part of an ongoing investigation.
