Request for Proposals for Snow Removal Services

SNOW REMOVAL SERVICES

The Alger County Board of Commissioners is seeking bids from qualified contractors for snow removal and sanding/salting services for the 2026/27, 2027/28, & 2028/29 winter seasons      (3-year contract).

Locations & Deadlines: Maximum accumulation for all locations during operating hours is 2 inches.

Ambulance Garage & Sheriff Department: Maintained 24/7 

Alger County Courthouse: Cleared by 7:00 a.m.

Alger County Animal Shelter: Cleared by 8:00 a.m. (Requires a separate bid)

Equipment & Service Requirements: must use a 4-wheel drive, rubber-tire, front-end loader and have backup equipment available. Snow must be hauled completely off the property for the Courthouse, Ambulance, and Sheriff parking lots (no on-site piling permitted).

Bidding Details & Procedure: Bids must include both a per-hour and per-year rate for all three seasons and include proof of insurance (naming Alger County as an additional insured).

SUBMIT: sealed bids clearly marked 'Snow Removal Bid'

DEADLINE: August 28, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.

The County reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
