Notice of Adoption of Enhanced Access to Public Records Policy & GIS Fee Schedule

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on August 17, 2026, the Alger County Board of Commissioners formally adopted a comprehensive Enhanced Access to Public Records Policy and updated Geographical Information System (GIS) Fee Schedule in accordance with Michigan Public Act 462 of 1996 (MCL 15.441 et seq.).

This policy regulates electronic access, commercial usage restrictions, and cost-recovery fee models associated with the digital distribution of County-wide geographical data layers, assessment databases, and tax parcel maps. All public parties, business entities, and institutional researchers requesting digital GIS data from Alger County are required to submit an authorized Data Request Form and execute a mandatory End User Non-Redistribution Agreement prior to data generation.

The full text of the approved policy, user classification matrix, and current data fees are available for public inspection at the Alger County Clerk's Office, 101 Court Street, Munising, MI 49862, or may be viewed digitally on the official county portal.

By Order of the Alger County Board of Commissioners.
